GALLERY EXHIBITIONS curated by Kate Stern
In addition to the numerous exhibitions seen at the Frostig Collection Gallery at Bergamot Station in Santa Monica, CA, Kate has curated solo shows for artists Michael Kalish, Brad Howe, David Buckingham and Moye Thompson as well as many group exhibitions throughout Los Angeles.
Pictured below are MODDA TRANSPORTATION, a show she curated for Michael Kalish, whose sculptural works are made from tailgates of old trucks and was exhibited at MODDA (the Museum of Design Art and Architecture) in Culver City, CA and NOBODY LIKES A SMARTASS by David Buckingham, exhibited at the Laemmle Film Center in Santa Monica, CA. Buckingham’s works are made from cut and welded discarded metal the artist finds scouring the alleys and deserts of Southern California. Also shown is WITHIN, a solo show for ceramist Moye Thompson, who mixes text with clay to create beautiful works that engage both the eye and the mind. Last but not least are a sampling of the solo shows Stern curated at the Frostig Collection Gallery.
