CITY OF WEST HOLLYWOOD, FROSTIG AT LARGE in West Hollywood, 2012
The title, Frostig At Large in West Hollywood, is a play on words stating that The Frostig Collection’s sculptures have broken free from the confines of the collection’s typical diminutive size and are living at large for a year in West Hollywood. The exhibit included large-scale sculptures by Charles Arnoldi, Lita Alburqueque, Brad Howe, Michael Kalish, and David Buckingham and was curated by Kate Stern.

CITY OF BEVERLY HILLS: For the Chinese New Year, 2014 (Year of the Horse)
DEBORAH BUTTERFIELD
Storm Castle, Bronze
At the request of the Beverly Hills Visitor’s Bureau in 2014, Kate was asked if she had any ideas for artwork that could be placed in the city for the month of February in honor of the Chinese New Year. Being the Year of the Horse who else to go to but the best? Already a big fan of Deborah Butterfield’s beautiful braided bronze horses and having had the pleasure of spending time with her at her Montana studio, Kate contacted her Los Angeles Gallery and within 3 weeks Storm Castle was standing proudly at the entrance to Two Rodeo, one of the world renowned hot spots in Beverly Hills where it remained for one month. The value of the sculpture and the amount of visitors to Beverly Hills’s Prime shopping street required 24/7 security to guard the bronze.
