The Frostig Collection
The Frostig Collection launched an unprecedented concept: an on-going collection of predominantly small-scale sculptures, sold in limited editions and created by renowned California artists to raise funds for social skills programs for children with learning disabilities, Aspergers and high-functioning autism. What started as a one time fundraising endeavor by Celia & Chris Piazza, parents of a child with Aspergers, to bring a social skills program into the renowned Frostig Center in Pasadena California, has grown into a highly regarded on-going art collection. Curator Kate Stern and Founder, Celia Piazza have worked hand in hand for 9 years cultivating, producing, and selling the expansive art collection.
Stern also ran the Frostig Collection’s gallery at Bergamot Station in Santa Monica, CA where she worked directly with the public in developing private art collections throughout the United States and curated the numerous gallery exhibitions involving the collection’s artists.
